We spiced up the life of 120 Fall Retreaters TWICE this past October at the gorgeously farm charm vibing Crooked Lane Farm in Colfax, ND! It was our first fall ever of doing 2 back-to-back weekends - doubling the amount of retreaters, workshops, local makers, hayrides, soups, and more after having a giant wait list for this crispy leafy event!
One of the weekends even had the perfect spooky fall fog to give a movie set vibe to the farm as everyone arrived. Please enjoy this photo recap of the foggy fun and more below!
Our welcome crew <3 As our retreaters drove down the (literal) crooked lane they were greeted by our caffeinated crew with their personal workshop schedules, cute lil tote, and their retreat swag - this year was mittens!!
As they made their way to enjoy a morning on the farm, they got to grab a mimosa or coffee, try a lil bingo mingle, swap workshops, and enjoy a Boppa's Bagel!
This was the most insanely cute and cozy flanneled group of retreaters ever who got an apparel assignment and crushed is 14/10. Quilted jackets, matching bestie outfits, overalls, all the flannel and plaid, and with a side of Schitt's Creek to prep for our happy hour theme.
Max, Erica, and Jake got everyone spiced up and orientated to prep for their day at the farm.
Maxine, the real star of the show, who literally on cue walked in front of everyone when she was introduced.
And one of the weekend's it was Crooked Lane's Mary Jo's birthday!! And she let us celebrate it with her and bask in the glow of her badassery.
And then it was off to workshop land! With over 40 workshops each weekend to choose from the variety - and new projects - were emoji-mind blowing thanks to the very talented people in our community sharing their skills. Hobbit cake decorating, plasma metal cutting, blacksmithing, wood turning, stained glass, sewing, lefse making, cocktail making, and so much more.
(and me playing with any dog I can find).
Pretend our crew is serving lunch and not dinner above! Kristina spiced up everyone's taste buds for lunch with things like shawarma soup and harvest salads! Lunch also included our retreat tradition of BINGO with sweet ass prizes.
And then it was off to workshop session 2!
Then we cheers'd to our themed Happy Hour of Schitt's Creek fun!
(and our new cocktail bar horse trailer Justin created!).
Moira Rose served up wines that weren't pronounced anything like their name...
People enjoyed "folding in the cheese" with the hugest most delicious variety of charcuterie and cheese.
4 Luv of Dog had adoptable dogs hanging out (to the tune of Ted's veterinary business).
We made Rose Apothecary tinted lip balms, bedazzled wine glasses, and keeping it fall-heavy created velvet pumpkins!
And for a real deep dive into Schitt's Creek we had a misspelled sheet cake that I'm pretty sure made sense to no one ;)
Oh! And danced to the tune of Kohlrabi Soup!!
After jumping on hayrides, petting dogs, making MORE things, we made...more things(!) in workshop session 3!
As the evening began to wind down we enjoyed a hearty farm-focused dinner - and pumpkin bars with all the toppings.
And kicked off our All Retreat Craft Time created the cutest lil ghost collages with a bunch of wood Justin laser cut in super cute ghosty designs!
These people above are MAGIC and we are so grateful for this Crooked Lane Farm crew to welcome us to host and partner with these retreats at their farm - and the 2 back to back this fall!! Mary Jo and Brent are so incredibly sincere, creative, and welcoming and it's an honor to do this with them.
And to Maxine. The legend. The icon. <3
And thank you to Thunder Coffee for coming out the 2nd weekend to craft up mini delicious lattes!!
And Drekker Brewing for keeping it Oktoberfest style and making the Peach Cobbler beer of our dreams that was the retreat's favorite!
And to Studio Freshly for capturing these golden, leaf dreams, cozy memories! Til next fall!
